What a nice surprise to experience Po's food and caring service. This is a family run restaurant, and everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. Po himself came over to talk with us for at least 10 minutes...nice touch. The food was terrific. While the menu items provided plenty of tempting options, we all went for some specials for the night, including an A+ veal chop! Fish dishes were equally good, and Po's pastry chef background didn't disappoint with the dessert options...all superb. It's a small space, and a bit tight...but we managed without a problem. Will definitely be back soon to try more entrees.

What an amazing find, thanks to our neighbors. Has only been open about 6 months, chef was with San Marco and is now on his own. Wonderful meal and wonderful dining experience. Chef was friendly, personable, came out to greet each table and is clearly thankful for the word of mouth business! Comfortable upscale atmosphere, white table cloths, 12 tables, open view to kitchen. Service was exceptional and helpful, very knowledgeable and able to help with meaningful recommendations. Lobster bisque was full of generous pieces of lobster meat, clams casino bare no resemblance to old fashion breaded mush, they were fresh and tasty. Can't omit That the bread was crusty warm and delicious and the olive oil was light but flavorful. As it was our first (but definitely not last time) we tried the Veal Osso Bucco and the homemade Gnocchi with bolognese. All pastas are house made and the gnocchi was soft, silly and absolutely perfect. Osso Bucco was tender, flavorful and hearty. Chef has 30 years pastry experience and the tiramisu was fantastic!!! This is an amazing dining experience, hand crafted, delicious and special. We are so glad this a neighborhood place as we will be back!!!

We really enjoyed our meal at PO Le. The only complaint is that we were seated behind the hostess stand - and it was a tight squeeze for our group of three. The food was amazing. The servers were so attentive. We highly recommend the cannoli!

So happy to have found this place! We tried the gnocchi and fettuccine with shrimp, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Among other features, what stood out most about our food was how fresh and homemade it tasted. Despite the crowd, our hostess and waiter were attentive and pleasant. Chef Po Le came came out twice to talk to us and help us with our dessert choice. Fresh, well-seasoned food, great service, and incredible desserts... we can't wait to go back.

This is a great restaurant in an amazing location. Small but well done comfortable space. Food was fabulous. Service excellent. Will be going back soon. Yelp did not note that it was BYOB, but PO Le website made it very clear. PO Le Cucina is a great dinning experience.

The three stars reflected in the reviews for this restaurant are totally inadequate to indicate the quality of food and experience one encounters at Po Le Cucina. Last night was my second trip, to be eagerly followed by many more, I am sure. My two friends and I weren't the only ones to want to savor the fabulousness of this place. On a Thursday night, every table was packed and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Talk about good vibrations. Two of us started out with the arugula salad special which I often enjoyed when Po cheffed at San Marco. Delicious! Our friend enjoyed the grilled calamari which she loved. We all had the app sized seafood linguine with LOTS of seafood and a little pasta, just the way I like it. I'm not a dessert girl but my friends got sorbet and gelato which they loved. Our waiter, Eduardo, was absolutely sweet and charming as was the hostess, the owner's niece. There was a bit of a wait but that was explained satisfactorily and it wasn't really an issue. I would hate to think that people would read Yelp, see three stars, and not try Po Le Cucina. Clearly, lots of people love it; they just haven't written any reviews.

Really nice website! After viewing, I had high expectations. But alas... First the good: The hostess was very friendly. The service in general was excellent. The waiter and busboy were courteous and quick to refill water and check on us throughout the meal. We had the Tomato, Avocado, Mozzarella appetizer. It was very good and the balsamic drizzle was excellent. Now the "Not so good" : The Bruschetta was pretty bad. The tomato topping was bland at best but worst of all, the bread was spongy almost as if they toasted stale bread. The bread for the table was fresh but also bland. My entree was the small portion of Rigatoni Bolognese. It was tasty but again a little bland. Bolognese is one of my "go to" items I like to try in new restaurants and this was just ok. The bad part was that for $16 the portion was tiny. I heard the waiter refer to it as "appetizer size" after I ordered it. My friend had chicken piccata. I tried it and it was good but again, for $18 it was a very small plate. It was 38 degrees outside and for some reason they had cold air blowing. Unless you are going to order cold food only, don't sit on the left side. The vent was pointed straight down at our table. There were people putting on coats and one woman even put on a scarf. But the cold air kept turning on and off. The noise level is pretty high. Be prepared to talk very loudly. I may give them another try. I realize they are new. But I get the impression that the food is prepared this way intentionally. I think there is a customer base that likes less bold, non-adventurous italian food like this. I think that's why Olive Garden always seems to be busy.

My wife and I had an awesome meal. We live in the city but manage to give this restaurant a try. A must do again. Well prepared apps and big dinner entrees. Hand made pastas and pastries, who does that now a days. BYOB!! Which makes it very nice. Reservation is a must. Top notch! Thanks for the great time and meal.

I know they just opened and still have a few kinks to work out. The food and service were both mediocre at best. My wife ordered a Caesar salad and I the lobster bisque. The salad was good and the soup very tasty but lukewarm. The bread tray looked a bit sad with 4 small badly sliced pieces of bread. My wife's pasta dish was tasty and my chicken with lemon sauce and capers done well. The vegetables were another story. The broccoli was over cooked and the potatoes were dead cold. Moving on to desert we split the ricotta cheese cake and 2 cappuccinos. I asked for them to please heat the cups before making the drinks. The cheesecake was right out of the fridge because it was hard and not very flavorful. The cappuccinos was tepid. I asked if they could please pop them into the microwave for just 20 seconds to warm them up a bit. That's the last time we saw them, they never came back. If you're thinking of giving this place a try I hope you have better luck. As for us I think not.

very nice intimate restaurant and better yet a byob! So glad to have a place like this in the burbs! I went there with my family of 5. We didn't get appetizers but our entrees included the seafood ravioli (EXCELLENT!!), rigatoni with marinara, fettucini primavera (beautiful and delicious), a cod special and risotto seafood. Everything BUT the risotto was very good. Of course I was the one who ordered it thinking I was in for a creamy, delicious dish and sorry to say that it was anything but. It was basically seafood (shrimp, mussels, scallops and clams) over a flavorless, watery, white rice. Very disappointed (especially since it was a $28 dish!). Nevertheless I did sample the other dishes and they were excellent...especially the seafood ravioli. We ordered wonderfully prepared cappucinos with tiramisu, cream puffs, and chocolate souffle...all wonderful! Despite the disappointing risotto I would definitely visit this lovely place again. The service was excellent as well and it was very nice that the chef and his wife visited the tables to ask how everything was.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try some place new for my birthday and I came across Po Le Cucina online. So thrilled I found this gem. We made reservations, which is highly recommended because it's a small place. We were the first people there, but soon the place filled up with first timers and frequent customers. The first thing that amazed us was the service. Front of house was amazing. Byob and our wine was opened instantly and poured. The list of specials was extensive and the servers knew them without needing a list to reference. They worked together to make each persons evening memorable. When our order was taken, my boyfriend had three courses and I had two. The server asked which course I would like to skip so I wouldn't be sitting there watching him eat. Wow! Very insightful and kind. The food was prepared quickly and was amazing. We started with two specials. I had the caprese salad with avocado. Tomatoes were fresh, mozzarella was fresh and spectacular, and the avocado was a full half. I was surprised by the portion and the plate was beautiful. The vinegrette on top was tart and refreshing. My boyfriend had the prosciutto wrapped figs with fresh parmesan. Again, beautifully plated and very tasty. He finished faster and his plate was cleared quickly which allowed his second plate to come out. This course was a seafood risotto. He got the smaller portion which again was plenty. I also was given a small plate to share with him. So glad I did. The amount of seafood was shocking. Full of shrimp, mussels, scallops, lobster, and a delicious sauce. Very good. Our entrees were lamb for him and seafood ravioli for me. His lamb was perfectly cooked and he says had the best balsamic reduction he's ever had [which says alot because he is a foodie and eats out all the time and also in some of the best places in Philly area]. My ravioli was delicious. The vodka sauce was addictive and when I had my leftovers packed, I even asked for as much of the sauce as possible [which I got]. I only was able to eat one ravioli because I wanted to eat all the seafood first. Lobster-2 huge chunks, shrimp, and scallops filled the plate. The food was stunning but I was so blown away by the service I had to sign up for yelp. Our wine and water glasses were topped off multiple times. Plates were cleared quickly. My food was packaged very quickly and with the bill we received a small plate of chocolate chip cranberry cookies. Staff was friendly and joked with customers. Even one couple came in and hugged the one employee, Lily. The chef came out to talk to some regulars....basically every single person was treated the same way and like a valued friend. Listening to others tables near us, they were just as thrilled with their food and every single one said they would be returning. As we left, all three servers said goodbye and our main server paused while talking to a new table to shake my boyfriend's hand and invite us back. We also will be returning and bringing friends and family, and when the weather cools a little we would love to sit outside. I called people as soon as we got to the car to recommend this establishment. Can't say enough!!

We have returned again and again with very picky guests and never been disappointed. This is an excellent it Italian BYOB. The service is good and the owner/chef on the floor. It's small and friendly. They don't rush you. I recommend the veal chop. They also are able to cook gluten free and often have GF pasta.

The food is very good. That being said - the service itself needs oversight. Agee with another reviewer that service was chaotic and many things overlooked (perhaps due to the young wait staff not having much experience). The chef chatted with the various tables which was nice. The quality of the food coming out of the kitchen needs to be reflected in table service for an overall good experience. Otherwise you leave pleasantly full but frustrated too.

All I can say is this is a 10!!!! Outstanding food, and service. The dover sole, lamb chops, lobster soup, lobster salad, desserts, were fabulous. The menu is very varied, with something for every taste. A real gem!

Ate here tonight with a friend and was so impressed. From the time we walked through the door the service was as nice as it gets. The food didn't disappoint. We had the fried calamari and they were tender and the marinara was delicious. My friend had the chicken picata and I had the peparadelle with duck ragu. We both LOVED what we had. Will definitely go back!!

Look, are you in Brooklyn? SF? Even Center City? 'Cause, once you admit you're in Oaks, PA, you'll also be pretty psyched about Po Le. Chef is a badass. Has worked w/the masters. The service is well-meaning, but, 'eh'. Yet again, point something out that is sub-optimal, and they will make it right. Salads...delish. Osso bucco....really great. Everything else...about what you'd expect from a nice dinner in the exurbs. Bring a decent Rioja and you're money.

It just goes to show you, when a chef with talent is given the freedom to do his own thing, away from those tyrant owners and miserable bartender at that overrated restaurant down the Pike, creativity, quality and professionalism shines. The service was excellent. Intelligent, articulate and pleasant servers were attentive and efficient. With tablecloths, and a comfortable, clean, fresh dining room, and an open kitchen, Po Le has a wonderful atmosphere in which to dine. We started with the grilled calamari, which was so tender, dressed with a little lemon and olive oil, had a terrific grilled flavor and simplistic charm. The pasta e fagioli was OK, very light, more like a chicken soup rather than the traditional depth and richness to what one may be accustomed. For an entree, I had a beautiful, not small osso buco. This was very tender, not a lot of un-rendered fat but some. And it was moist throughout. Served with crisp haricot vert and plain white rice. I would prefer risotto rather than a plain white rice to be served with this Italian dish. My "friend" had the Pappardelle with the duck ragu. This was decadent, very rich, a little salty, and for the most part enjoyable, but not something I would order after tasting. It took me awhile to get here and I very much look forward to get this in my collection of local weeknight BYOB destinations.

We enjoyed our meal, very fresh and very tasteful. The service was excellent. Im so glad I didn't see Zach "the lego guys" post. We might not have eaten here, Its as if some people that post reviews have to high of an opinion of their self. My compliments to the chef and servers.

Po Le opened in the former location of Mina Cucina and Filippo's in a strip mall along Bethlehem Pike in Spring House. The owner was formally a chef at San Marco up the street. The only changes to the design of the restaurant was the addition of outside seating. The layout remained mostly the same from how Mina was setup. The buzz locally was that the food was top notch and I had to see for myself. We made reservations 1 week in advance for a Friday night around 7pm. We arrived and were seated immediately. The restaurant was completely full shortly after we were seated. Our sever came over after a few minutes to open our wine and get some ice for our beer. The menu is rather compact which is fine but the specials list was about the same size. After the server was finished advising us of the specials it almost seemed like there were more specials then entrees. My mother ordered an anti pasta for the table and we all shared an order of Calamari. Each of us also ordered and entree. I thought he food was good and it was obviously fresh. While I did enjoy my meal It wasn't memorable. I'm sure I will return again sometime but I didn't get what all the hype was about.

It was a last minute decision to go out to dinner on a Wednesday night. We did not know anything about this restaurant until we arrived. It is not a big place and although it was busy we didn't feel cramped and it wasn't noisy. The food was out of this world. We had appetizers, dinner and dessert. There were four of us and we were all very satisfied with our meals. The portions were generous. The dessert tray was unique and all homemade. The service was top notch and the wait for our food was minimal. Our waiter, David, was very friendly and did a great job explaining the specials. Their menu is not huge but has plenty to choose from. They had maybe 4 or 5 specials. The highlight of the night was when Mr. Po Le came out and talked to us. We were blown away with his friendly personality. He shared his personal story with us which was priceless. I would recommend reservations because I could see this place filling up quick. Food = 10 Service = 10 Atmosphere = 8 Mr. Po Le = 100 I can't wait to go back!

So this is really an Italian place ( there is nothing really Asian about it other than the chef and staff) An upbeat local place with quality meal at a nice price Had grilled octopus appetizer ;that was tasty ( but cold) and linguini with shellfish in a garlic sauce which was nice ( however the larger pasta portion did not seem much different in size to smaller plate at $10 less) After dinner coffee was good with complimentary cookies Attentive family staff

Oh, yeah. Terrific all the way around. Dinner for 5 of us -- we started with eggplant rolatini, fried calamari and some salads. All solid. Entrees really shined. Fabulous softshell crabs. Veal chop was perfectly cooked and sauced with a perfect reduction. Seafood ravioli topped with more seafood (!) was a big winner, too. Surprisingly good desserts. We shared a flourless chocolate cake and a berry/custard pie/tart. They brought out free chocolate chip cookies for us, too. The chef came out and chatted us up. His son was our server and his daughter the hostess. Everyone was super-personable and professional. Oh, and it's BYOB! A great night out. Don't miss it.

I regularly take clients to Po Le for business lunches and have consistently been impressed. You get excellent food with perfectly done fresh vegetables and great presentation along with white tablecloths and proper place settings all at surprisingly reasonable prices. It is my favorite lunch spot in the Ambler/Maple Glen area. Today, my wife (her first visit) and I stopped in for an early lunch with our baby. We were early enough we knew we wouldn't bother other diners if the baby was fussy. Po Le brought out our lunches himself and then, with our permission, took the baby for a restaurant tour while we enjoyed a peaceful lunch. What a great experience for everyone!! Highly recommended for the food, now also with impromptu babysitting.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
